Eye of Horus and Inika Organic, winners of the Best Of The Green Edit Award
Eye of Horus hails from Byron Bay, and puts focus on the ancient beauty practice and nourishing plant extracts. The entire range is designed to offer skincare-like benefits too, thanks to the inclusion of ingredients like macadamia oil, jojoba, hemp seed oil and desert clay.
Our pick: Eye Of Horus Sacred Earth Palette ($85)
As far as clean, organic, Australian beauty brands go, it’s hard to top Inika. They’re free from all synthetics and animal products (including sulphates, parabens, petrochemicals and PEGs) without compromising on colour or texture.
Australian brand Ere Perez is having a moment (they recently onboarded at Mecca) and we can definitely see why. The makeup offering is extensive and luxe, all whilst remaining vegan (with the exception of the brand’s mascara, which contains beeswax), cruelty-free and carbon neutral. The packaging is chic, too.
Ere Perez Pure Rice Powder Bronzer Duo gives a gorgeous natural glow that will make you look sun-kissed and healthy, perfect for the days when your skin tone needs a lift.
Formulated by a professional makeup artist, Kylie’s Professional offers cosmetics that are both clean and easy to use. Founder Kylie developed the range in response to her own sensitive, easily-irritated complexion, so you can be sure the entire range is gentle enough for all skin types.
This mineral cream foundation is long-wearing but natural looking, and perfect for sensitive and acne-prone skins. Either apply all over for full coverage, or use as a concealer to brush lightly over areas that need a little coverage.
Founded by Rose-Marie Swift, RMS was one of the first “clean” mainstream beauty brands. Now it’s a makeup artist and celebrity favourite, known for its low-fuss approach to makeup.
Our pick: Living Luminizer
Designed to enhance the skins natural youthfulness, this ultra-sheer, satin-pearl luminizer highlights the skin and delivers a translucent finish that will give the skin a radiant glow. Creamy and easy to use, this coconut oil-based highlighter is perfect on cheekbones or beneath the brow.
Nūdus is handcrafted with beautiful certified organic ingredients and combines bioactive ancient ayurvedic colours and extracts made from flowers, fruits, herbs and minerals with organic cold pressed oils including pumpkin, kiwi fruit, raspberry, pomegranate, argan and moringa. The ultimate cocktail of moisture and beauty.
Our pick: Precious ($42)
This is Cathy's happy colour. Precious is a richly pigmented medium soft pink that leaves your lips soft and deliciously hydrated.
